News Release: Hit The Road This Summer With New Styles From Harley-Davidson Footwear®

HIT THE ROAD THIS SUMMER WITH NEW STYLES FROM HARLEY-DAVIDSON FOOTWEAR®
ROCKFORD, Mich. (March 2, 2010) – Versatile boots that offer comfort and durability are more important than ever in these current economic times. Harley-Davidson Footwear® is introducing several new performance riding styles that feature IntelliTemp® technology as well as a new riding footwear collection, the Tough Comfort Series, with a new construction technique that’s bound to impress.
Footwear Featuring IntelliTemp® Technology
The seven-inch, military-inspired Zane with its aggressive outsole comes loaded with features to offer added comfort, durability and safety. The men’s Zane has a full-grain leather and mesh upper with a silver Bar & Shield logo, and is one of four new Harley-Davidson Footwear styles that is fully lined with IntelliTemp material. The IntelliTemp lining helps to regulate foot temperature by actually becoming warmer or cooler depending on the rider’s temperature, making it ideal for cross-country adventures. The Zane also features a YKK® locking inside zipper with a Velcro® closure, an abrasion- and oil-resistant rubber outsole, and has a Goodyear® welt construction that provides flexibility and durability. 3M™ reflective material is included on the back part stitching for added visibility when riding at night.
Featuring a wide Harley-Davidson-branded buckle strap across the laces, the men’s Cobalt is a true enthusiast’s spin on a classic work boot. The boot is fully lined with IntelliTemp lining, features an abrasion- and oil-resistant rubber outsole, and has Goodyear welt construction. Hook and eye speed lacing and a YKK locking inside zipper with Velcro closure allows easy access.
The men’s Oryan is an eight-inch harness boot that also features a leather strap and Harley-Davidson-branded buckle on the boot’s shaft. The full IntelliTemp lining will keep riders’ feet at a comfortable temperature. An elongated leather shifter’s patch is affixed to the top of the full-grain leather boot to help prevent scuffed leather from the shifter pegs. The Oryan is built with a Goodyear welt construction for added durability and includes a YKK locking inside zipper with Velcro closure and an abrasion- and oil-resistant rubber outsole.
Flaunting an edgy look, the women’s Vada is adorned with metal details. From the studded harness and shiny ring to the inside and outside zippers, Vada is an attention grabber. The zippers are YKK locking and the leather zipper pulls are kept securely in place with a leather strap and snap. Just like the men’s styles, the Vada also features IntelliTemp lining, Goodyear welt construction, full-grain leather upper and slip-resistant rubber outsole.
Tough Comfort Series
Male riders looking for a riding boot as comfortable as a sneaker but durable as a work boot, look no further. Meet Harley-Davidson Footwear’s Tough Comfort Series. The styles in this new line feature a new construction for Harley-Davidson Footwear that combines the time proven strength and durability of a Goodyear welt construction in the front part of the foot and cement construction in the back part for comfort. For additional comfort, the footwear are made with an athletic-cup EVA heel for high shock absorption and energy return with each step and a unique flex-point for maximum foot flexibility. The styles also come fitted with a removable full length Ortholite® cushion sock lining that help to increase strength, breathability and moisture transport while reducing worn-in odors with anti-microbial technology.
Made with abrasion-, oil- and slip-resistant aggressive rubber outsoles, the Tough Comfort Series includes three different styles to meet your needs. The Maverick is a traditional lace-up oxford, available in black or dark brown. The Apollo is a three-and-one-half-inch black lace-up chukka, also available in black and dark brown. The third style, the Titan, is a hiker-inspired boot that is available in brown or black and has an ASTM-rated steel-toe style available.
The IntelliTemp styles will be available at Harley-Davidson Dealerships June 1, 2010.
